WEST MIDLANDS v GLAMORGAN

COUNTY WEEKEND • 12–13 SEPTEMBER 2026

Glamorgan travelled to Willenhall to face West Midlands at Gilberts Bar & Function Room, with the B teams taking centre stage on Saturday before the A teams completed the County weekend on Sunday.

WOMEN’S B — 3–3 DRAW

Glamorgan Women’s B opened the weekend with a well-earned 3–3 draw.

Sarah Teesdale made the perfect start with a straight-legs victory, finishing her final leg in 29 darts. Paula Randall was beaten in the second match, while Nicola Biddick took a leg before eventually losing her contest.

Abbie Brewster then produced the standout Glamorgan performance of the session. After dropping the opening leg, Brewster responded with consecutive 23-dart legs on her way to victory, recording a 19.09 winning average to claim WOTM.

Sue Hall added Glamorgan’s third win after a five-leg battle, while Michelle Jones was beaten in the final match.

MEN’S B — 6–6 DRAW

The Men’s B produced an entertaining session which finished 6–6, with Glamorgan taking six of the twelve individual matches.

David Neads got Glamorgan off to an excellent start. In a high-quality encounter he produced two 16-dart legs, hit a 180 and finished the deciding leg in just 15 darts, recording a 28.43 winning average to take MOTM.

Shaun Dibbs followed with another Glamorgan victory, including winning legs of 18, 16 and 17 darts. Steven Inkpen and Colin Powell were both beaten before Josh Lloyd secured Glamorgan’s third win.

Gavin Sterio was narrowly beaten despite producing some excellent darts of his own, including a 180 and a superb 15-dart leg. Dai Caller then added another Glamorgan victory, while Liam Wigley was beaten.

Crucially, Richard Jones won his match to put another point on the board for Glamorgan. Jones also fired in a 180 and produced a 16-dart leg during his victory.

Fabian Tapner and Stewart Smith were beaten, although Smith produced an excellent 16-dart leg. The final word belonged to Neil Parry, who secured Glamorgan’s sixth victory with a superb performance featuring two 180s and winning legs of 15 and 14 darts.

MOTM: David Neads – 28.43

WOMEN’S A — GLAMORGAN WIN 4–2

Sunday began with an excellent 4–2 victory for Glamorgan Women’s A.

Tia Sterio gave Glamorgan the ideal start with a straight-legs win before Donna Thomas was beaten in the second match. Lorraine Hyde responded strongly for Glamorgan with a 3–0 victory, including 24 and 26-dart winning legs.

The outstanding performance came from Eve Watson, who swept to a 3–0 win and produced the best winning average of the session at 24.24. Watson opened with an excellent 18-darter before finishing the match with a superb 17-dart leg to secure WOTM.

Rhian O’Sullivan continued Glamorgan’s strong run with another straight-legs victory, including excellent 19 and 20-dart legs, while Donna Buckley played well in the final match before finally going down 1-3.

WOTM: Eve Watson – 24.24

MEN’S A — WEST MIDLANDS WIN 7–5

The Men’s A completed the weekend, with West Midlands taking the session 7–5, although there were several outstanding Glamorgan performances.

John Cook was beaten in the opener but produced a 180, before Finley Pember delivered an emphatic Glamorgan victory. Pember hit a 180 and produced a superb 13-dart leg, as well as a 17-darter.

Sean Fisher added another Glamorgan win, while Dan Beynon was beaten. Hywel Manuel also lost despite producing an excellent 15-dart leg during his match.

Mark Challenger then claimed another Glamorgan victory in a high-quality performance which included a brilliant 13-dart leg. Kai Clark was beaten despite hitting a 180, while Dean Reynolds also lost after producing a strong 15-dart leg.

There were fireworks from Tim Jones despite defeat. Jones hit a 180, took out a superb 151 checkout and produced a 13-dart leg.

Anthony Waters secured another Glamorgan victory, while Craig Lewis was beaten despite registering a 180.

Finally, Liam Meek rounded off the weekend with an excellent victory. Meek recorded a 28.36 winning average, the highest among Glamorgan’s Men’s A winners, to take the MOTM award.

Glamorgan therefore finished the weekend with draws for both the Women’s B and Men’s B teams, victory for the Women’s A and defeat for the Men’s A. There were plenty of individual highlights across the two days, with Abbie Brewster, David Neads, Eve Watson and Liam Meek taking the respective WOTM and MOTM honours.
